The Doorman

As he senses them coming, he rises, pats the dust off his coat, and walks over to the Hole. Taking a quick look to make sure it was stable, he draws a small pocket knife of engraved light out of his pocket. A rare blade, crafted for one purpose, to tear the fabric of space and time, and allow those who are not, to be. It was the Doorman's duty to let beings in, no matter what their intentions be. Over time the Doorman had been mauled, murdered, beaten up, disposed of, cooked, burnt(not in that order), yet every time he came back. It was his dharma. His one duty. Those who know the Doorman know he can't be stopped from doing it, no matter how hard they try, for those who do try, learn to give up.
The Doorman leans close to the surface in front of him, a white surface, panning as long as ones imagination runs, and picking a spot, slides the knife in, and then out. A second goes by. Then another. And another. And then the very surface bursts open with enough force to set a ship sailing across space, and out pour a thousand horses, some live, some bionic, some dead from the journey, tethered to massive ship headed by noone in particular. It is a transport ship harbouring refugees from across dimensions. But the Doorman doesn't care. He simply steps aside, pokes another hole in the surface, pulls a stool out of it and sitting down, watches them pass by. The beings watch him. Some wave, some turn away, frightened, but all are thankful. Of what, one can only wonder, but that may be the case of anyone or many seeking refuge.
After the ship passes by on its way to wherever it needs to go, the surface starts to seal up again, as if in discomfort of being torn.
The Doorman waits on his stool, patiently, for whoever or whatever comes next.

One hook to rule them all

Small write up. Took me days to figure out parts of blender. But now, we all know more don't we? Maybe not.

Here's the great path:

Of Space Lions and Such..

This one. No need for explanation.
As he strode across the battlefield, prepared to forge the entrance to his enemies makers, he could not help but notice a certain tense in his warriors.
"WE ARE THE KEYS TO HELL!!" he proclaimed, rallying, instilling both fear and courage.
He knew, once they saw the whites in their eyes, there was but one thing left to do,
"CHAAAARGE!", he yelled, as he led his Li-ions to victory.

The Jet Lag (Li) Issue

This, in honour of one of my dear friends who is halfway across the planet, traveled westwards, thus founding a grave question in my head; is it possible to beat jet lag? Or is that just a stupid question, as I am primarily inept and have never left this "great" country of mine. Sarcasm aimed towards country is non-threatening, please ignore if offended.

As usual, probably not reading this, but have a nice trip, enjoy for the stranded bird.

I will however, plan any trip to the west that comes my way and try to beat this wretched foe, for the greater good of humanity. Or prove myself further inept at understanding basic concepts.

Cheers!

Crab Soup

In reference to one of my most beloved games of all times, and one whose story I just finished (miraculously so, if I may add), I give the world Sleeping Dogs fanart!!
I have a couple of more ideas which I'll get to work on soon, so if there truly is someone out there who actually reads this, know that if you exist and are reading this, it makes me really happy. I appreciate that you're taking time off.

It is a wallpaper, 16:9,  so enlarge and have fun..
Old salty crab had too much of a reference feel to it, so I changed it to the salty crab.. More of a general feelish...

Been feeling down. But it's ok. If you like this, then I'm happy. Whoever it is that may look at this..

(Mixing personal and professional here, might not be a good idea, but one should cut loose every once in a while.)

Cheers!

Kaolin the Swag Spirit

Yet another line of Dota2 renders that I've been messing around with, this time it's Kaolin the Earth Spirit, rather SWAG SPIRIT, because of his initial swagginess when the hero was released (forgive my use of the word swag, it's still early in the morning, and I'm not in a fit state of mind.).

Kaolin and Friends :)

This time, I decided to mess around with the parts and create some custom shaders and in some parts, even textures for the model. Here's the result:

Kaolin

All models here have been done up using blender and cycles, and for those of you who want to get to doing this, I would highly recommend learning to use blender and cycles, it is literally the most useful thing in the world, aside from a multitool and a friendzoned guy. I would know :p

Here's a work in progress, there's no photoshop ones as I didn't even use it here :D

The belt was the most annoying as it had multiple parts in it that needed different shaders, so I had to duplicate it and for each part I had to delete the all faces on the belt, except the one I needed for each part. Basically sitting and deleting complicated dots. Annoying, time consuming, but good results :)

Cheers!

Sword Render

Going crazy over blender, pretty much as any sane person should, I've been downloading dota 2 models and playing around with them. My last one was a Juggernaut, so this time I decided to play around with the shaders in cycles (the blender render engine).

This is Juggernaut's sword without any materials on it (except the bland white default texture):

This is the sword with the basic ingame materials and textures:

And, the long awaited, with much bated breath at that, final render using the cycles shaders without the dota 2 textures:

(There is no real noticeable difference between 512 and 1024 sampling. Sad really)

The more we learn. :D

Cheers!
